The Chair that sucked.

This was a letter of complaint that was the first thing that I did in my Business class. We where told to write a formal, professionalish letter to complain to a company of our chose about something of our chose. It could be based on a personal experience or made up. I did mine on a real chair in my class that was broken, and on further inspection, I discovered there where numerous broken chair throughout the class.

I learned that to make a professional rant letter, it can't just be mindless yelling or it will get nowhere. It should also include as much detail as possible about the problem, and ways you think they could fix it.

To who it may concern,

I would like to bring to your attention an incident involving one of your products, a plastic five-wheel desk chair. The lever that lets the user change the height of chair has broken. This causes the chair to be extremely low to the floor and makes sitting on it quite uncomfortable and altogether unpleasant.

You may wish to consider making the lever out of some other materials, more durable and less prone to damage, as I know I’m not the only who how has encountered this problem. Apart from this I was rather pleased with the comfort and simplicity of the chair, and would like to continue thinking of it as a good, usable product.

I sincerely hope you think about my suggestion and work to improve upon your product. If you need any more information on mine or any of my associate’s problems with the chair feel free to contact me at the address above.

Thank you for letting me bring this to your attention,

Sincerely,

Shannon Reichert
